Welcome to the PERSIST homepage!

The focus of Project PERSIST is to analyse the role of Purchasing and Supply Management (PSM) in the era of I4.0 (machine-to-machine communication). This underlying subject is developing in a fast pace and higher education needs to prepare for the role of new content and new forms of education. New competencies will be required and the need for new, interactive, student-centred teaching approaches is subsequent. The project members see the opportunity to benefit from the technology changes to support future education. A tailored education system will help to develop future competencies.

The materials will be freely available for (European) universities and will be disseminated via international platforms like IPSERA and via practitioners’ platforms like IFPSM. The new course will be tested and implemented as part of the MSc track “Purchasing and Supply Management” at the University of Twente.

Silver Workers Fit for the Future

Learning/Teaching/Training Event at the University of Twente

For the testing of the study materials, cooperation was found with our associated partners of Project PERISCOPE. Together with PERISCOPE, a collaborative Learning, Teaching and Training Activity (LTTA) was organised at the University of Twente campus in June 2022. A dozen PhD and master’s students from the PERSIST partners LUT, TU Dortmund and EUBA were present. Moreover, from the PERISCOPE partners Audencia Nates, ESSCA Angers, and TU Graz, about 15 PhD and Master’s students attended the LTTA. Moreover, about ten UTwente PhD and Master’s were present, plus a University of Utrecht student and a lecturer from abroad.

PERSIST at the Global Gallery

On May 18, 2022, we presented project PERSIST at the Global Gallery in the International Meeting Center (IBZ) of the TU Dortmund University.

Transnational project meeting at the LUT

The third Transnational project meeting was organized by LUT School of Business and Management and took place in Lappeenranta, Finland on the 6-8th October 2021. The meeting was hosted by Elina Karttunen and Jukka Hallikas from LUT University. The participants from University of Twente (Holger Schiele, Vincent Delke and Klaas Stek) arrived at Lappeenranta. Participants from the TU Dortmund (Dennis Meyer, Florian Paffrath), UEBA (Michal Tkáč) and Edge Hill University (Stephen Kelly and Peter Vangorp) and University of Twente (Gabriela Maris) actively participated through video conferencing tool.

Presenting IO3 results during the EurOMA 2021 conference

On the 6th of July 2021, members of the PERSIST group joined the EurOMA 2021 conference to present the Delphi study outcome of the third intellectual output (IO3). One part of IO3 addressed the skills and roles within purchasing and supply management within an Industry 4.0 scenario.
